May 2018 until April 2026

After 84 years, Uranus entered the sign of Taurus in May 2018 but retrograded back to Aries until March 2019. It will stay in Taurus till April 2026. What will the next years bring on the collective level? As Uranus enters Taurus, humanity could be confronted with some daunting questions. Technology and AI are likely to become completely enmeshed with reality. Changes in the food system, financial disturbances, and a new value system are likely in front of us. Here is bit on this transit with some useful tips

Uranus can easily be described as the most futuristic planet of them all. It governs electricity, lightning, science, technology, inventions, airplanes, and space travels.

Uranus is a different type of bad boy. The one you don ‘t bring home to your parents, out of fear that he is just too eccentric to fit in. And that’s okay with him, he just cannot be bothered with fitting in and being mediocre. His energy is erratic, eccentric, and sometimes very impulsive. He also possesses an undeniable streak of genius, and stubborn unwillingness to conform to the rules, norms, and imposed authorities. Especially those he considers fake, mediocre, archaic, limiting and harmful for human progress. He sees nothing controversial in ruthlessly destroying the old and replacing it with something brilliant, innovative, and eccentric because he sees straight into the eyes of the future. In a nutshell, Uranus is a rebel; the only question is whether with or without a cause (yes, it can easily go both ways…).

Uranus can easily be described as the quirky architect of the future. Only a few get his genius. The rest see a strange eccentric at best and a dangerous threat that needs to be stopped at worst. Uranus will rarely be deeply concerned with what others say and even less with how they feel, especially if he sees how the new could uplift the old. “I will change the world with my unique ideas!” he proclaims.

The sign of Taurus dances to an entirely different tune. It is connected to gardens, ecosystems, farming and food, housing, financial matters, and value systems. Imagine a woman very much in tune with her senses. Nature, sensory pleasures, and stability, those are her main focus. “Give me something I can touch,” she whispers. “No need to speculate about the future or speed anything up. All we have is what we can see, hear, touch, taste, and smell… Right now!”

But don’t be fooled by her steadiness and slowness. The Taurean empress is one powerful woman, once she finds her goal. She is the ultimate constructor, carefully and resourcefully knitting her creation into existence. Where others may falter, she will persevere. With unbelievable determination. Or dangerous inflexibility. Either way, she will have it her way.

The fast, innovative and disruptive frequency that Uranus produces is not fully compatible with the slowness and permanence of the sign of Taurus.

This can create friction, crises, and conflict. However, these two can find a way to work out their issues and collaborate. There is a constructive expression of energy in both of them. Uranus builds in the realm of the mind his future-oriented ideas. Taurus provides a very resourceful and palpable way of building in the present. Basically, the Taurus can materialize just about anything, if it’s given enough time, patience and perseverance. The only question is, will Uranus play along, or will it insist on speeding things up, sometimes frantically?

Let’s look at this transit in the past. In the last three centuries, Uranus transits often coincided with revolutions, important inventions, financial downturns, and even wars.

The 18th century Uranus transit coincided with the Boston tea party, the uprising that started the American Revolutionary War a few years later. At the same time, James Cook discovered the Australian continent for the British Empire, a discovery that will start the future colonization of the continent, in the wake of the loss of American colonies.

Uranus in Taurus in the 19th century happened at the time of discovery of the steam engine and the start of the Industrial Revolution.

The last Uranus transit in Taurus happened between 1934 and 1942. This was the time of the Great Depression in the US, Hitler’s rise to power and the start of World War II. Sadly, World War II also jumpstarted the deadly invention of the atomic bomb. In 1938 in Germany, the scientists succeeded in splitting the Uranium atom (also named after the Greek god Uranus like the planet). This started a race to create the atomic bomb; the project to build the first nuclear bomb began in the US in 1939, and the bomb was built a couple of years later.

Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest inventors in the history of mankind was born during the Uranus in Taurus transit in 1856. With Taurean ascendant, he also has a first house Uranus, making him an extraordinary inventor, genius, a futurist, a rebel, and an extremely independent thinker.

Tesla was born one stormy summer night. The legend says that the storm was so strong that the midwife interpreted it as a sign of an extraordinary destiny of the newborn Tesla and said to his mother: “This child is the child of Lightning.” Little did she know how correct her prediction was. Tesla created many artificial bolts of lightning in his lifetime, invented the modern alternating current electricity supply system, and would become known as “The man who lit up the world” and “The man who invented the 20th century”.

Tesla was also deeply poetic and inspired by nature, embodying so perfectly the genius potential of Uranus in Taurus. In fact, he described that some of his inventions came to him while he was observing the sunset as a young man. He recalls seeing his inventions clearly in the sun. When asked about his extraordinary connection to the lightning he said: “I talk to lightning and thunder. The sound does not exist only in the thunder, but also in the lightning. The lightning transforms the sound into glow and colors, and colors can be heard. The language is made of words, so it is made of sounds and colors. Every thunder and lightning is different and has its own name.”

What could happen with the first Uranus in Taurus transit in the 21st century?

Since Taurus governs the Financial system, it is possible that Uranus brings some sort of dramatic change in the money matters. Our material foundation of life could somehow be shaken. Major financial crises, innovations, and revolutions are all possible during this transit. The financial crises could be triggered by digital revolutionaries, with radical ideas, such as computer hackers. Cryptocurrencies and alternative money and payment forms could rise in their application.

Uranus will probably try to infuse more virtuality in the Taurean manifestation of reality. Holograms may become even more realistic, making us less able to distinguish the real from the virtual. Artificial intelligence is likely to become more and more advanced, making it harder to distinguish an AI from a human. The inventors could try to mimic the reality in many ways: making the AI sound more human, behave more human, and look more human. Technological replacements or advancements of certain body parts are also very possible, threading the thin line towards the real human cyborgs. New and advanced wide area networks such as the Internet could be built and used in new ways. 3D printers could become more successful, accurate, and used widely in production.

Since Taurus is so profoundly connected to nature, ecosystems, and agriculture, it is quite likely it will give Uranus an expression in this field. Some powerful innovations that deal with environment, agriculture, food systems, and natural resources are possible. Uranus could innovate the food production processes. GMOs, smart farming and 3D food printing could become more popular. New technologies could be applied in agricultural production and food processing and preparing. Farmers are likely to have more virtual control over their fields, and advanced robots could be used for farming and food processing. The innovations in agriculture could increase the efficiency and speed of food production. We could also witness more unpredictability in the natural elements: storms, droughts, floods and tornadoes could destroy the crops and jeopardize the livelihoods of many. Some long-term environmental concerns may be solved faster than expected, with advanced research and innovative solutions. For example, plastic eating worms or bacteria could be used to efficiently decompose plastic waste. Even freakier inventions are possible; if the environmentally detrimental behavior continues, we may be forced to use robotic bees to compensate for the massive decline in the bee population worldwide.

It is also possible that people become more aware of their role in the food system and demand more independence and environmental consciousness in food cultivation. Protests against food control and the use of genetic modifications and chemicals could intensify, together with other types of environmentally-oriented initiatives. Food cooperatives, urban gardens and innovative organic farming could rise in popularity. Traditional methods of farming could be re-invented and improved.

Ultimately, Taurus is the sign of values and worth. Uranus wants to shake up the old value system and introduce change. Have we become too complacent with the old value system that doesn’t fit us anymore? If so, now is an excellent time to act.

Tips to relieve tension during this transit:

  • This transit offers good opportunity to manifest your ideas, especially the quirky, different, and progressive ones. Is there anything that you’ve been meaning to create, but have been blocking because you’ve been afraid it’s just too different? Depending on which house of your horoscope is affected by the transit, Uranus in Taurus could help you get your idea into a more concrete shape.
  • Think about your investments, and see if you could innovate them in any way that makes sense to you. Remember that an investment of time in any activity is also an investment, so try to do more of the things that bring you joy, peace, harmony, and knowledge.
  • Anything that gets you closer to nature and helps you ground yourself is a great idea. Spend more time outside, especially if you feel blocked. Brainstorm in nature, listen to it and seek inspiration from it.
  • If you can, aim to procure your food from ethical, organic sources, small farmers and innovative associations that bring farmers together and help them market their products. Maybe even start your own gardening practice. Don’t be discouraged: a little tomato pot with some herbs also counts!
  • Cook your own food. Try to bring some innovation in the way that you approach food. Could you try out some new recipes or approaches to food? Or maybe grow some vegetables? Eat calmly and take time to enjoy the tastes and to digest afterward. Invite your friends over for dinner.
  • Meditate and do some form of physical activity which recharges and relaxes you. This could be very beneficial if the Uranus transit triggers the nervous system and makes you even more prone to worrying, anxiety, and over-thinking.
  • If you get confused or stuck, use common sense but don’t be afraid to experiment with new approaches to solving your problem. Take the advice that a loving grandma would give you, and toss it in the blender with a pinch of craziness.
  • Get a bit quirkier with your ideas, values and how you make money. This can prove to be quite beneficial.
  • Know your own worth and refuse to be treated in any way that does not reflect it, especially by figures of authority. Avoid unnecessary conflicts but be direct and honest regarding your values.
  • Try out integrating in your life a piece of an Archetype of this transit. Here are some archetypes you could try out: The Persistent Rebel (with a good cause), Nature’s Own Innovator, The Silent Genius.

North Node in Cancer: Crab’s Tale https://universalwaveastrology.com/north-node-in-cancer-crabs-tale/ Tue, 12 Mar 2019 04:20:51 +0000 https://universalwaveastrology.com/?p=696

There once was a tinny crab. The little crab had not yet built her shell-house, so she protected herself by walking very close to her mother. She asked her mother: “Mom, will I ever be as strong as you are?”

“You are very strong my little one,” her mother responded. “Your strength lies in your curious little heart. And don’t you worry about a thing! I will protect you until you grow bigger and are able to build a house of your own. You will take your house with you wherever you go. It will protect you from all the predators out there.”

The little crab was worried. “How will I ever build my own house?” she thought to herself. “I am just a tiny little crab. What do I know of constructing?” So, she hid under her mother’s shell and wished she never, ever had to leave.

But destiny would have it different. The little crab’s mother suddenly died, without being able to teach her little one how to build a shell-house of her own. The little crab was all alone, very afraid and sad that she had lost her mother, her protection and her home. She was walking anxiously through the sand, fearful of each move, yet driven by the need to survive and find another shelter.

At the same time, an old goat was roaming around that same beach, searching for some leaves he could eat. He noticed the tiny, unshielded crab and thought it was the funniest thing ever.

“What kind of creature are you?” the goat asked. “You must be the funniest thing my old eyes have ever seen!”

“I am a crab.” whispered the little one.

The old goat started laughing out loud. “What kind of crab has no house?”

“I am too little to have it,” she replied. “I am supposed to build it, but I don’t know how. Maybe you know how?”

“Sure little one, I can show you,” said the goat in an amused tone of voice. “But you will have to climb high to the granite mountain where I live. You can climb on top of my back, and I will take you to the summit. Once we reach, you’ll be able to construct your armor in granite. Granite is the most durable material out there, you know! But I have to warn you. This trip is not for the faint-hearted. It is only for the resilient and hard-working souls.”

“I will go with you,” whispered the little crab. “Without the house, I won’t be able to survive!”

So, the crab hoped onto the goat’s back, and up into the mountain, they went. The goat and the crab climbed very high up. It started to get cold, and the path was steep, but the goat knew how to survive. It would take slow, calculated steps and endure strenuous difficulties with incredible resilience. The crab held tightly to goat’s fur. It was harsh and not as soft as she remembered her mother’s embrace to feel. Still, she was happy that she could eat the little insects on goat’s fur, drink the raindrops and keep herself warm from the heat the old goat was producing. After days of climbing, they finally reached the top.

“You have to hop off now little crab,” the goat said. “We have arrived. And this is where we, unfortunately, have to part our ways. I have to find some more food before winter and a durable shelter to protect myself from the cold. I wish you all the luck, tinny crab! Work hard, and you will make it! There are lots of granite rocks here so you can start constructing your own house right away!”

But how am I going to do it?” asked the little crab frightened. “These granite rocks are huge, and my body is tiny!”

“Use the little granite stones to shape your house out of any big rock you like,” the goat responded. “This work is tough, and it will require your sweat and tears. But it is what it is. And if you are persistent enough, you are destined to succeed.”

The little crab looked at the granite rocks in disbelief. “How am I ever going to do this?!” she thought to herself. Nevertheless, she decided that she must try. The weather on the mountain was changing rapidly. Winter was coming, and she knew she had to have her house soon, or she would die. And so, she started to hit the granite rock with a sharp granite stone she had found. Little chunks of granite started falling down. Little by little, she was making progress, just like the goat had predicted. There was still a lot of work to be done, so she decided she must push harder. She chiseled the granite with her tiny claws whole day long. In the night, she fell asleep exhausted but could sleep only for a few hours before the cold woke her up. Every day she would set a new target and push herself relentlessly. “If I don’t finish the house soon, I am going to die.” she thought. And the fear kept her pushing, harder and harder and harder.

In three weeks, she had finally finished. She had built her own granite house! With a sense of pride and relief, she slowly entered the hole she had designed to fit her body. “I am a good worker,” she said to herself. “I have managed to construct my own house. My mother would be proud!” But she had no time to rest. The days were getting shorter and colder, and she needed to get her new granite house down to the sea.

And so, she tried to do what the crabs do- walk her home with her. But as hard as she tried, she couldn’t move an inch. The granite house was just too heavy for her tiny legs to carry. “Oh no!!!” she gasped. “This is a disaster!! How am I ever going to take this house anywhere, let alone down the mountain? It is so heavy, I just can’t move it, I really can’t!” She managed to find the strength to crawl out of the house and was devastated to see she was all naked again. “It’s all pointless! I will just let myself die on top of this mountain. There is no purpose in this misery. I am such a lousy, pathetic, homeless crab!”

She wept inconsolably and laid her tired body down on the ground. The rain started falling faster, and the wind was blowing harsher. There was nothing left for her to do, so she surrendered herself to destiny. She couldn’t really feel the rain, or the wind, although her whole body was shaking uncontrollably. Suddenly, she remembered how it felt to be embraced by her mother. She didn’t know if it was a dream, a reality, or if she was dying, but all of a sudden, she heard her mother’s voice clearly:

“You can do it, my sweetheart. You are such a strong crab!”

As she opened her eyes, she saw a wonder! She had miraculously produced a tinny firm layer on top of her skin, her own little shell. She was so exhausted that she had to close her eyes again. When she woke up, she saw that the protective layer got thicker, and the shape of her armor resembled her mother’s.

After days of hibernation, her house was all done. It was a lovely house with beautiful ornaments in green and red. She thought to herself: “I am a crab. And I understand now what it means to be a crab. I have built my own house from inside out. And such a beautiful house it is!”

And so, protected and enlightened of her true nature, she descended back from the mountain to the sea.

****

They say that the tiny crab is still to be seen, but only for those who look carefully and mean no harm. She is almost invisible because she has blended her house perfectly with the surroundings. Only her true friends can see her.

It turns out that the hard work she did on the mountain helped her to become a skillful sculptor. She spends her days in the coral reef, using her claws to create her sculptures from tinny pieces of coral that have fallen off naturally.
